APD Names Suspect in February Hit and Run

Authorities have named the suspect involved in the investigation into a recent hit and run in Amarillo.

According to APD, on Saturday, February 19, officers responded to a call regarding a hit and run incident in the 1200 block of Southwest 10th Avenue. Two female pedestrians had been struck by a white SUV while they were crossing the street, not at an intersection or a crosswalk. One of the pedestrians was left with life threatening injuries, while the other received non-life threatening injuries.

On Thursday, March 10, authorities announced the suspect in the case had been identified as Stephanie Luna, 33. Luna has been charged two counts of Accident Involving Serious Bodily Injury, a 3rd degree felony. Luna turned herself into the Potter County Detention Center on those charges.

This case remains under investigation by the APD Traffic Investigation Squad.
