Authorities have arrested one suspect following a homicide at the Cowboy Motel in Amarillo.
According to Amarillo Police, on Sunday, March 13 at 5:54 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Cowboy Motel on the report of an aggravated assault. When they arrived, they found a male victim with gunshot wounds who later died at the scene from his injuries.
Homicide detectives interviewed witnesses and the suspect at the scene. Following these interviews, authorities placed Ronald Austin, 64, under arrest. Austin was booked into the Potter County Jail for a murder charge.
Next of kin for the victim have not been notified, as of the time of publication.
This case remains under investigation by the APD Homicide Unit.
