APD: One Arrested in Saturday Homicide

Authorities say one person has been arrested following a homicide on Saturday night.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, on Saturday, July 3, at 11pm, officers were dispatched to an emergency call in the 2600 block of Sanborn Drive. Officers arrived to find Robert Barrientez, 33, lying in the front yard and suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Brujillio Barrientez, 29, was detained and interviewed by APD homicide detectives. Brujillio Barrientez was arrested for murder and was booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
