Another traffic change is coming to Western Street.

According to the City of Amarillo, traffic will switch to the eastern half of Western Street beginning on Thursday, March 10. Officials plan to use this change to continue road improvements on the street. During the change, drivers will use the newly-paved lanes to allow the contractor to complete the western half of Western from 49th Avenue to 45th Avenue.

Drivers should watch for lane switches, posted signs related to construction and contractor personnel and equipment in work zones. Motorists may need to seek alternate routes due to temporary lane closures. Motorists should use caution and anticipate delays until the work is completed.
