Lago Vista attorney Mark Tippetts will be the Texas Libertarian Party’s nominee for governor in the upcoming November election, the LP decided this weekend.
Over the weekend, delegates from the Texas Libertarian Party nominated Tippetts to again serve as their party’s nominee for governor. The nomination places Tippetts on the ballot again after previously serving as the party’s gubernatorial nominee in 2018 — an election which saw him receive just under two percent of the vote statewide.
In addition to Tippetts, the party also nominated Mark Ash for attorney general, Alonzo Echavarria-Garza for comptroller of public accounts, and Jaime Diez for railroad commissioner. The nomination of Ash is notable, as the candidate holds the record for the most votes ever received by a Texas Libertarian in a single election cycle after receiving over 1.6 million votes in his 2018 campaign for a seat on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
