May 7th Special Election Early Voting Wraps Up, May 24th Runoff Early Voting Just Around the Corner

Early voting is wrapping up for the May 7th special election. As of writing, some polling locations having already closed, while some others will be open until 7:00 pm. Election Day is Saturday, May 7th, where polling places will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

This election features two amendments to the State of Texas Constitution (Propositions 1 and 2) as well as the four hotly debated Amarillo ISD bonds (Propositions A through D).

But, even after this Saturday’s election is over, election season isn’t over here in Amarillo. The May 24th runoff election is quickly approaching. This election will feature races that did not feature any candidates with a majority in the March 1st primary election earlier this year. Early Voting for the runoff election is May 16th through May 20th.

You can find a list of polling places and sample ballots for each election can be found at your county’s website. Click here for Potter County’s website and here for Randall County’s website. As usual, the Amarillo Pioneer will report live election results, so be sure to check out our website on each election night.
