Provided by The City of Amarillo

The City of Amarillo is asking for help identifying what it is calling an “Unidentified Amarillo Object” photographed at the Amarillo Zoo in May.

The image, which appears to be a creature walking on its hind legs, has already attracted media attention outside of Amarillo. News organizations across Texas, the US, and even The Mirror in the United Kingdom have released articles about the object. According to The Mirror’s article, the image appears to have first been shared by Reddit user u/Segu1n. According to the original post on Reddit, the image was a “game camera photo taken through an 8’ perimeter fence.”

According to the city’s Parks Director Michael Kashuba, “this entity was outside the Amarillo Zoo. There were no signs of attempted entry into the zoo. No animals or individuals were harmed. There were no signs of criminal activity or vandalism.”

The City of Amarillo has asked people who think they might know what the object is to send an email to their communications office: publiccommunications@amarillo.gov
