Donald Trump won the straw poll at the CPAC 2022 event in Dallas this weekend with 59% of the vote. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis earned second place with 24%. This follows a similar result to CPAC Florida earlier this year, with DeSantis earning 28% of the vote, though DeSantis’ performance was slightly weaker in this poll conducted outside of his home state. The number one issue was election integrity, and the number two issue was border security. Energy independence and constitutional rights were third and fourth.
Only 8% thought Joe Biden would be the next Democratic Nominee for president, third place behind Gavin Newsom and Michelle Obama and tied with Hillary Clinton.
