Amarillo City Council is expected to consider nearly $4 million in spending during Tuesday afternoon’s city council meeting, which is set to take place at City Hall at 1:00 pm. Additionally, the council is expected to consider approval of a $2 million land purchase by the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation.

Most of the spending items tomorrow are on the consent agenda, with two items on the regular agenda. A full list of the spending items is included below at the bottom of the article, with items sorted from lowest to highest cost.

The most expensive item on the agenda is the purchase of properties on South Grant. According to the Potter-Randall Appraisal District (PRAD), the total market value of the three properties is $334,310.00. PRAD records also show these three properties are the only real estate owned by Burgess Trust No. 2 within the district.

Another high profile item is a wind-down agreement with American Traffic Solutions Inc., which will bring to a close Amarillo’s controversial red light camera program.

Another spending item of note on the agenda not in the above list is an approval of a $2 million land purchase by the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation. The approval, which is item 3P on the agenda, will involve the purchase of about 100 acres from A.G. Attebury Testamentary Trust on the northeast corner of the Airport Boulevard and Southeast Third Avenue intersection. According to PRAD, the market value of this property is $477,580.000.

Both property purchases do not include “closing costs and related expenses” in the price given on the agenda.
