After cancelling their regularly scheduled meeting earlier this week citing weather, the city has rescheduled the meeting for next Tuesday. The rescheduled meeting includes all of the items included on the cancelled meeting’s agenda, as well as a handful of new items.
As was the case with the previous agenda, the bulk of the spending items are on the consent agenda, which will allow the council to consider all items at once with a single vote. Only two spending items, items 3B and 3D, are not on the consent agenda. Item 3B, which was on the original agenda from the cancelled meeting, is consideration of a $469,438.00 contract with BerryDunn to manage the implementation of the new Paymentus online customer-facing payment portal. Item 3D, which was not on the agenda for the cancelled meeting, is consideration of a $525,000 contract with architectural firm Populous to perform architectural and engineering services for Hodgetown to “keep Hodgetown in compliance” with M.L,B. minor league stadium design standards.
The most expensive item on the agenda, 2K, is a $795,115 contract with AVIS Budget Rental, Alamo National, and Enterprise for rental cars at Rick Husband International Airport. (Two of these companies, Alamo National and Enterprise, are owned by EAN Holdings.) After item 2K, the next highest price tag is item 2J, a $585,906.60 contract with Green Plains Design for landscape management in the Colonies Public Improvement District. According to the city, this will be funded by the Colonies PID. One more item on the agenda will cost over half a million dollars: Item 2L, which is a $519,810 contract addition with Garney Companies for various projects at the Hollywood and River Road water reclamation facilities.
All of these items were on the agenda for the cancelled meeting. The only spending item added to the new agenda is item 2R, which is a $110,231 addition to a contract for the emergency Hillside Sewer Remediation project contract with Jacobs Engineering Group.
Other items on the agenda carried over from the cancelled meeting include various planning and zoning items, approval of the budget for Transformation Park, an agreement with the City of Tacoma, Washington to allow Tacoma to purchase from vendors who have been awarded contracts by Amarillo, the sale of city owned property at 512 S. Jackson, and the leasing of Rick Klein Baseball and Southwest Softball complexes to Texas Panhandle Youth Sports Foundation.
The council will also consider refunding bonds for outstanding Canadian River Municipal Water Authority refunding bonds. This item, labeled as 2S and included in the consent agenda, is new and was not included on the agenda for the cancelled meeting.
The meeting is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 31st and will take place on the third floor of City Hall. Those interested in speaking during the meeting may sign up on the city website at this link. A full table of spending items and a link to the full agenda is included below.
