A special meeting of Amarillo City Council has been scheduled for Monday, April 3rd, to discuss City Manager Jared Miller's employment contract.
According to the agenda released for the meeting, it will open with a call to order, invocation, and public comment, before moving to a closed door executive session for a "discussion of City Manager Jared Miller's performance evaluation and City Manager Employment Agreement." The council will then reconvene into an open session to "discuss and consider employment agreement with City Manager." No other business is listed on the agenda.
According to a memo included in the agenda packet, the item will consider "the award of an amended employment agreement between the City of Amarillo, Texas and City Manager Jared Miller."
Miller was first hired by the City of Amarillo in 2017, shortly before Mayor Ginger Nelson was first elected. Miller has been the City Manager for the entirety of the time the incumbent mayor and council have been in office.
A link to the meeting's posting on the city website is included below. The next regular meeting of the council is scheduled for April 11th.
