Congressman Ronny Jackson has endorsed local educator and former challenger Jason Foglesong in his race for Amarillo College Board of Regents.
Foglesong previously competed against Jackson in the crowded 2020 US House District 13 Republican primary election. After failing to secure the nomination, Foglesong backed Jackson in the general election.
Jackson announced the endorsement in a social media post, stating:
“I don’t get into local races often, but this one is a little bit different. Jason Foglesong ran against me in my first race. When I won, he was the first to endorse me and worked hard to make sure I got reelected. He is a true conservative and will be a sincere public servant. Jason has my COMPLETE ENDORSEMENT for Amarillo College Board of Regents. Early voting starts April 24th & Election Day is May 6th. Vote JASON FOGLESONG for Amarillo College Board of Regents!”
Foglesong has stated he is running “to offer an alternative to the tax-and-spend status quo, and make sure that the voices of regular people are represented.”
Foglesong is running for one of the three seats up for election on the college’s board. Other candidates in the race are incumbents Michele Fortunato and Jay Barrett. Other challengers include Mike Yazbek, Brady Clark, and Irene Hughes.
Election Day is May 6th. Early Voting is April 24th to May 2nd.
