Congressman Ronny Jackson (R-Amarillo) has endorsed firefighter Josh Craft in the Amarillo City Council Place 1 runoff.

“I’m PROUD to endorse Josh Craft for Amarillo City Council Place 1,” reads the endorsement, which was posted to social media hours before polls closed on the first day of early voting. “Josh is the real deal. He’s a servant to his community through & through.”

Craft is facing entrepreneur and lottery winner Dean Crump in a runoff election, as no candidate for the Place 1 seat secured a majority on May 6th. Craft received 43% of the first-round vote, while Crump earned second place with 33%. Chip Hunt, Kelsey Richardson, Sherie Wood, Margie Gonzales, and Ray White did not make it to the runoff.

Early voting continues through Friday with an additional opportunity to cast an early vote ballot on Tuesday, June 20th. Election Day is Saturday, June 24th. You can find our voter guide at AmarilloVotes.online. Be sure to check our website on election night for live results.
