Amarillo City Councilman Cole Stanley is up on the airwaves with a television ad promoting his mayoral campaign.
In a new 30-second commercial from the mayoral hopeful, Stanley touts his plans to “restore confidence in local government,” and says that Amarillo is in need of new leadership at City Hall.
“I love Amarillo and I know our quality of life can be much better, but we need to grow Amarillo for the benefit of everyone — not just the few,” Stanley says in the spot.
Stanley is seeking to make the jump from City Council to the mayor’s office this year, running to replace incumbent Ginger Nelson, who is not seeking re-election. Stanley is facing his fellow councilmember, Freda Powell, as well as several political newcomers in this year’s election. In addition to Stanley and Powell, former Elkhart City Councilman Don Collins, life coach Jeff McGunegle, truck driver Sam Burnett, and influencer Tonya Winston are also running for mayor.
Election Day is on May 6.
