For the upcoming May 6 election, our Editorial Board has issued recommendations for several candidates who we believe will be strong advocates for local taxpayers and responsible stewards of the taxpayers’ resources.

Here is a recap of our Editorial Board recommendations for the May 6 election:

• Amarillo City Council, Place 1: Chip Hunt

• Amarillo City Council, Place 2: No recommendation at this time

• Amarillo City Council, Place 3: Tom Scherlen

• Amarillo City Council, Place 4: Hobert “Gunny” Brown

• Amarillo College Board of Regents: Jason Foglesong and Mike Yazbek

• Amarillo ISD: No recommendation at this time

• Canyon ISD, Place 1: No recommendation at this time

• Canyon ISD, Place 2: No recommendation at this time

• Canyon ISD, Place 3: No recommendation at this time

• Canyon ISD, Place 7: No recommendation at this time

For races in which we have not yet recommended, we retain the right to issue recommendations at a later date before the election.
