One candidate is leading the fundraising race while another candidate is spending more in the race for Randall County Sheriff.
According to finance reports filed by both candidates last week, incumbent Sheriff Chris Fobis outraised challenger Roger L. Short, $14,274 to $4,200. However, while Forbis brought in the most money, Short spent the most, with $30,784 in expenditures. In comparison, Forbis reported $2,420 in expenditures during the same period.
Short’s big spending comes off of the $39,000 the candidate has loaned his campaign, thus far. According to Short’s finance report, his top expenditures went to Burkett Outdoor and Choice Outdoor Advertising for billboards and C&B Marketing for yard signs.
This race will be decided during the primary election on Tuesday, March 5.
