Interim City Manager Listening Sessions Placed on Hold

According to a press release from the city, upcoming public listening sessions with Interim City Manager Andrew Freeman have been “postponed.”

Freeman has been the source of many recent headlines after he made significant changes to the organization of city leadership, changes which were then quickly rolled back as “the Amarillo City Council was not given opportunity to advise and consider consent on the changes,” according to a separate press release.

Despite recent headlines, the announcement that the listening sessions were postponed simply cites “upcoming scheduling conflicts.” The press release did not note when the sessions would be resumed, but encouraged those who would like to set up an individual meeting with Freeman to contact City Secretary Stephanie Coggins.
