A brand new poll shows Sen. Ted Cruz with a lead over his Democrat opponent as the campaign enters the summer season.
According to a new poll from the Texas Hispanic Policy Foundation, Cruz is leading Democrat Rep. Colin Allred, 46-41 percent. The third candidate in the race, Libertarian Ted Brown, held 4 percent in the poll.
The latest poll is part of a trend of recent polls showing Cruz with a small lead over Allred. Cruz has led Allred in every poll released since the primary election last month, in which Cruz and Allred both clinched their parties’ nominations with little difficulty.
Voters will decide the U.S. Senate race as part of the November general election.
