A brand new poll out this week has Senator Ted Cruz with a narrow lead over El Paso Democrat Beto O'Rourke.
According to the poll, which was released on Wednesday, Cruz is leading the El Paso Democrat in a tight race, 49 percent to 45 percent. The four point edge for Cruz comes off the back of heavy Republican support, as the poll found more party enthusiasm for Cruz than for O'Rourke. However, O'Rourke did better with independents in the survey, winning 46 percent to Cruz's 45 percent.
The survey did not included Libertarian Neal Dikeman, who is the third candidate on the ballot in the closely-watched contest.
Cruz, the Republican incumbent, will meet Dikeman and O'Rourke in the November general election.
