Q: Why did you decide to run for this office in 2022?
A: Having been appointed to the commissioner position, it has been an honor to serve Randall County. Our citizens have the right to be represented by those that can and will represent them in the best way possible. I take pride in being able to do that while addressing each and every issue that I am asked to look into. All avenues are explored to determine if their concerns can result in a positive resolution. Randall county is blessed to have excellent department managers and quality employees throughout the organization. Working with them on a regular basis it is impressive to witness everyone striving to represent our citizens in a positive manner.
This inspires me in being on the Commissioner's Court and I welcome the opportunity to continue as County Commissioner Precinct 1.
Q: If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?
A: *Keep the Randall County tax base strong by promoting new industry and practicing conservative principles to keep the property taxes low.
*Maintain quality roads and bridges along with all other county services as our population grows.
*Always have an open door policy for all citizens of Randall County and to address their issues on a timely basis.
Q: What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?
A: To my knowledge Randall County Precinct 1 does not have issues that have not been addressed in some form or fashion. There are many miles of county roads in this precinct and most of the calls or emails that I receive are in regard to some kind of repair that might be needed for them. Fortunately, our excellent road crew responds to those situations on a very timely basis. I will continue to work with this team on timely responses as needs arise.
Q: Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?
A: Having a 37 year career with Western Merchandisers / Anderson Merchandisers, I have a thorough understanding of budgets, finances, business principles, and the importance of working together with fellow associates to accomplish common goals.
The Randall County Commissioner's Court works very well together as a team. Having been on the Court for almost year, I am fortunate to work with a County Judge and fellow Commission members that have a passion for their work. This has been a great learning experience for me and I am now very comfortable in the knowledge gained to do what is best for the county and my fellow citizens. I now know what team members to visit whenever there is an issue to resolve and I always take advantage of that. Everyone's dedication is amazing and I use that to continually improve my performance as Randall County Commissioner Precinct 1.
