Q: Why did you decide to run for this office in 2022?

A: I am running for Judge of the 181st District Court because this community deserves to have judges who are committed to upholding the law and serving the community, and I am. I have spent my career practicing family law and criminal law, the primary areas of law heard by this court. I am also experienced in general civil litigation. I want to continue the work that I have done over the last 15 months to have the 181st run efficiently and effectively.

Q: If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?

A: 1) Upholding the law and protecting Constitutional rights

2) Continuing to come up with ways to address the backlog of cases while moving newly filed cases.

3) Ensuring that everyone that appears before my court is treated fairly, and with dignity and respect.

Q: What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?

A: We need to elect a strong, conservative judge who interprets the law and doesn’t legislate from the bench. I am a strong conservative who will always uphold the constitution.

Q: Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?

A: Governor Abbott appointed me to this court in September of 2020 after a competitive interview process. My experience and background afforded me the ability to immediately go to work addressing the backlog of cases caused by the pandemic. This is a court of general jurisdiction hearing criminal, family, and civil matters. I am experienced in all of these areas of law. I am also a frequent writer and speaker for family law seminars around the state. I know what it takes to run an efficient and effective court. I am committed to being a fair and impartial judge that will uphold the law. Additionally, I have spent a large part of my life working and serving in the communities that I have lived in. The life experiences that I have gained afford me the ability to appreciate the various backgrounds and circumstances that come before the court. I have earned a reputation of being a hard-working, fair and knowledgeable judge.
