For his questions to Deputy City Manager Bob Cowell, during yesterday's meeting of the Amarillo College Board of Regents, Patrick Miller should get an "A+."
Miller's questions were right on target, and he asked the right things for a government official to be asking. I also commend a few other regents for their comments, but Mr. Miller deserves the bulk of the credit for the comments.
Mr. Miller's comments, contrasting Anette Carlisle's comments, which were obviously pro-TIRZ, made Miller seem to be the Regent making the most inquiries. Mr. Miller's comments were also neither pro-TIRZ or anti-TIRZ, but rather pro-citizen. This is the kind of leadership that Amarillo needs to see.
So, kudos to Mr. Miller. You get an A+ from The Pioneer.
