The Texas Bowl game was highly anticipated and was attended by a capacity crowd of 72,220. The game, which was held at the NRG Stadium in Houston, was broadcast live on ESPN.
Although the game stayed tied in the first quarter, Kansas State score 16 points in the second quarter, topping the Aggies' 7 points. The Aggies answered back in the third quarter, scoring 7-3, but it was not enough to overcome a strong showing by the Wildcats.
The game was a record-setter for the Aggies, as Texas A&M appeared in a bowl game for their eighth consecutive season.
