After a long weekend, the Amarillo City Council will be headed back to work on Tuesday, with a large agenda on tap.
Among the items on the agenda for Tuesday's City Council meeting, the City Council will be reviewing a controversial tire regulation ordinance. The ordinance, which was passed in a first reading, was opposed by Councilmember Elisha Demerson and Councilmember Randy Burkett. The item also saw intense sparring between Mayor Paul Harpole and building official Scott A. McDonald.
The City Council will also consider approving a "Blueprint for 21st Century Senior Services." The "Blueprint" was forwarded to the City Council, by the 21st Century Senior Services Development Advisory Board.
Another controversial topic on the City Council's agenda will be consideration of an ordinance which will authorize the publication of notice of intention to issue certificates of obligation.
The City Council will also consider approving several rezoning ordinances and a consent agenda.
The Amarillo City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 6th, at 5pm. The meeting will be held at City Hall (509 SE 7th Avenue) in the City Council chambers.
