The Texas Rangers may be seeking to sign Mike Napoli to a 1 year deal, according to ESPN.
Napoli, a former Texas Rangers catcher, finished the 2016 season as a member of the Cleveland Indians. ESPN is reporting that the 1 year deal could be a hang up, as Napoli is seeking a multi-year deal.
In 2016, Napoli belted in 34 homeruns and 101 hits.
ESPN reports that Texas is also looking for a new first baseman following Mitch Moreland's signing with the Boston Red Sox. Texas may be interested in Milwaukee's Chris Carter.
