The Texas Rangers have singed Boston Red Sox right-hander Doug Fister to a one-year deal.
The Rangers organization announced the signing on Tuesday, citing that a deal had been reached to bring Fister into the team. Fister's signing is one of the first major signings announced by the Rangers this postseason.
Doug Fister is a right-handed starting pitcher who is a multi-year veteran of Major League Baseball. Debuting with the Seattle Mariners in 2009, Fister has played for a variety of teams, including the Rangers' Texas rival, the Houston Astros. In the 2017 season, Fister pitched for a record of 5-9.
Fister's deal is reported to be worth $4 million, according to the Dallas Morning News.
