The Amarillo Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Advisory Committee has scheduled a meeting for Monday, October 16th.
During the board's meeting, committee members will discuss a potential work session item for City Council regarding a change to the board's name. The board was created by members of the previous Amarillo City Council, led by Councilman Mark Nair. It is unclear what name the committee is planning to consider.
Board members will also discuss scheduling a "road diet workshop" with the Federal Highway Administration and safety concerns in the Plemons Subdivision of Harrison Street and Tyler Street.
Courtney White, assistant city attorney for the City of Amarillo, is also scheduled to give a presentation on the Texas Open Meetings Act to board members.
The meeting will take place at 11am on Monday, October 16th in the Simms Municipal Building (808 S. Buchanan).
