A professor from Texas Tech University will present a lecture at West Texas A&M University on Tuesday.
Dr. Emily Skidmore, an assistant professor of U.S. History and Gender and Sexuality will present a lecture at WTAMU on Tuesday, October 17th. Skidmore's lecture, entitled "Beyond Community: Gender Transgression and Rural Spaces at the Turn of the 20th Century," is being presented as part of the university's distinguished lecture series.
Skidmore has been a presenter at several conventions including: the Annual Meeting of the American Historical Association, the National Women's Studies Annual Conference, the Annual Meeting of the American Studies Association, and the Berkshire Conference of Women Historians. Skidmore is also an author with a book set for release this year.
Skidmore has also been featured on the National Public Radio podcast "Backstory."
The lecture will be hosted by Dr. Amy Von Lintel and Dr. Brian Ingrassia.
Skidmore's lecture will take place at 7pm in WTAMU's Sybil B. Harrington Fine Arts Complex Recital Hall on Tuesday, October 17th.
