Borderlands historian Dr. Brian DeLay will be presenting a lecture at West Texas A&M University on October 19th.
DeLay will be presenting his lecture at WTAMU as part of the university's Garry L. Nall Lectures in Western Studies. DeLay's lecture is titled "The Texas Gun Frontier and the Travails of Mexican History" and will be presented at 7:30pm at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon. The address will include refreshments and a book signing.
The presenter is also planning to host a question and answer session in the Cornette Library’s Blackburn Room at 3pm on the day of the lecture.
Professor DeLay will be travelling to WTAMU from University of California, Berkeley. DeLay is an associate professor of history at Berkeley. DeLay is also the author of 2008's award winning book War of a Thousand Deserts: Indian Raids and the U.S.-Mexican War.
