With Christmas fast approaching, we have complied information on how to send those Christmas letters to Santa Claus.
As Christmas is fast approaching many local kids are ready to get letters in the mail to tell Santa Claus what their desires are for Christmas. For those kids who want to get their letters in the mail, the thought of finding the address and mailing the letter to Santa himself may prove daunting.
Fear not! We at the Amarillo Pioneer have the information you need to get those letters in the mail.
According to the United States Postal Service, the number of letters mailed to Santa within the United States is easily in the millions. The Postal Service has been operating a Letters to Santa program since 1912. The program has since enlisted the assistance of various nonprofits and charitable organizations to help make sure that each letter makes it where it is supposed to go.
To send a letter to Santa, the USPS says the child should write a letter and address it in an envelope to "Santa Claus, North Pole." If the child would like a response letter, the USPS says to have a parent complete a letter and place it within an envelope with the return address "Santa Claus, North Pole." A first class stamp must be affixed to the larger package and the mailing address needs to be to:
NORTH POLE POSTMARK POSTMASTER
4141 POSTMARK DR
ANCHORAGE AK 99530-9998
By following these steps, parents can ensure that this Christmas will be a memorable one by using the Letters to Santa program.
