Sports writers are speculating that Derek Holland could be making a return to the Texas Rangers rotation in the near future.
Holland, a former Chicago White Sox ace, is currently sitting as a free agent ahead of the start of the upcoming Major League Baseball season. Andrew Webb of Nolan Writin' wrote in a post this morning that Holland could be a good bet for Texas as they look to rebuild a rotation.
"The Rangers have been signing veterans all off-season to short-term, low-cost deals," Webb wrote in the article. "Signing Holland to a one-year $2 million deal is a good idea regardless of the outcome. He gets an opportunity to finish his career where it started."
Holland previously played for the Texas Rangers from 2009 through 2016.
