Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick has announced the appointment of an Amarillo resident to the Texas Council on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders.
Patrick announced last week that Terrence Sommers will serve on the committee. Sommers, a resident of Amarillo, has spent 21 years working in the fields of national security and public safety. Sommers is an adjunct professor developing and implementing mental health and Alzheimer’s curriculum.
Sommers will serve on the council with Dr. Vaunette Fay, PhD, of Houston, Ana Guerrero, of Galveston and Dr. Char Hu, PhD, of Austin.
The committee will advise the legislature on needed action for the benefit of persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders
