Texas Rangers are reportedly the top bidder for the contract of Japanese baseball sensation Shohei Otani.
Otani, a pitcher from Japan, has become a hot commodity, as various MLB teams have begun discussing luring the pitcher to the United States. Texas currently has a budget of $3.535 million from the international bonus pool, according to Lone Star Ball.
The looks at the international bonus pool come as MLB has agreed to grandfather Otani in the postseason under the previous posting system.
Other teams interested in signing Otani, according to ESPN, include: the New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins.
