APD Responds to Possible Kidnapping

The Amarillo Police Department is reporting that officers responded to the call of a possible kidnapping on Thursday.

On Thursday morning, APD officers responded to the call of a possible kidnapping at Southeast 27th Avenue and Garfield Street. The possible suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5'10", medium build, wearing a red shirt and jeans. The possible victim was described as a female, possibly Hispanic, 5'5", 150 lbs, wearing a blue jean jacket, black shirt, blue jeans and high boots. The possible victim was described as having brown hair with highlights and she was carrying a white purse.

A caller told officers that the suspect forced the victim into a 1990's model tan or brown Buick or Oldsmobile. The back right tire of the vehicle appeared to be a spare tire and the back window of the vehicle was tinted.

The suspect vehicle was last seen headed south on Arthur Street from Southeast 27th Avenue.
