Emergency crews in Amarillo responded to large fires in South Amarillo on Sunday.
According to the Randall County Sheriff's Office, crews responded to a fire south of Loop 335, just east of Western Street on Sunday. After the announcement that the fire was moving toward Western Street late in the afternoon, crews were able to stop all forward movement of the fire.
About two hours after the announcement of the fire, crews called the fire 100 percent contained. Firefighters then worked to put out any hot spots.
The cause of the fire is declared as unknown at the time of this article's publication.
