A homeless memorial day service will be held in Ellwood Park in Amarillo on Sunday night.
On Sunday, December 31st, residents of Amarillo will gather in Ellwood Park for Homeless Memorial Day Amarillo. The evening will in remembrance and commemoration of Amarillo's homeless neighbors who passed away in 2017. The evening will also feature discussion on Amarillo's need for a low barrier shelter to help those with addiction.
The evening's memorial is being hosted by Amarillo Brown Bag Runs, Food Not Bombs Amarillo, Mustard Street Burgers, Tim Joad, the High Plains Circle of Non Violence and Amarillo Housing First.
Memorial services begin at 7pm.
