Senator Kel Seliger (R-Amarillo) has announced that he has received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association of America.
Seliger announced on Monday that he has received the organization's endorsement for the 2018 Texas legislative elections. In a posting to his campaign's Facebook page, Seliger says that the NRA endorsed his campaign due to his "strong record of support on issues of importance to gun owners and sportsmen."
While Seliger has announced the endorsement, the NRA has not yet publicly announced any endorsements for the 2018 elections. On the NRA Political Victory Fund website, no endorsements are shown for any elections in Texas.
Seliger is currently running for re-election to the Texas Senate, facing Amarillo restaurant owner Victor Leal and former Midland mayor Mike Canon.
The Republican primary election day will be held on March 6th.
