A local candidate for the Texas Senate has been endorsed in his primary race.
Victor Leal, an Amarillo restaurant owner, has been endorsed by Grassroots America: We The People in his bid the the Texas Senate seat currently held by Kel Seliger. The organization which has its main focus on social media, endorsed Leal as part of its current series of endorsements for Texas conservative candidates.
"Senate District 31 has a great chance to send a true limited government, freedom-minded, life-saving, taxpayer-protecting entrepreneurial success story to the Texas Senate," Grassroots America wrote on Facebook. "Victor Leal will fight for property tax reform - not fight to kill it like Senator Kel Seliger."
Leal is running for the Republican nomination for the spot. Leal is facing the incumbent Seliger and former Midland mayor Mike Canon in the primary. The winner of the primary will face Libertarian Jack B. Westbrook in the general election.
