Congressman Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon) joined a majority of U.S. House members today in voting to kill a push by Congressman Al Green (D-Houston) to impeach President Donald Trump.
On Wednesday morning, Thornberry joined a majority of House members in voting to table Green's motion to begin impeachment proceedings against Trump. Green has introduced the article of impeachment on Wednesday morning, calling his introducing of the article of impeachment one of the "greatest moments" of his life.
Green's articles of impeachment charged President Trump will committing "high misdemeanors" while serving as President of the United States.
During the Wednesday vote, Thornberry joined a majority to kill Green's bill, 364-58. All 58 votes against tabling the bill were cast by Democratic members of the House of Representatives.
