Democratic U.S. Rep. Al Green’s resolution to impeach President Donald Trump for high misdemeanors failed again this week, with a majority of House members voting to table the item.
On Wednesday, a resolution to begin impeachment against Trump failed in the U.S. House of Representatives, with members voting 332-95 to table the issue. U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon) was among the members voting to table the resolution, and was joined by all voting House Republicans and 137 House Democrats. U.S. Rep. Justin Amash, a Michigan independent, also voted to table the item.
This event marked the third time Green has attempted to launch impeachment proceedings against Trump. Green’s most recent effort, which occurred in January 2018, saw the House voting 355-66 to table the measure.
