Senator Ted Cruz and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders clashed, last night, in a televised debate on CNN.
The debate's primary focus was over the future of the Affordable Care Act, which is commonly known as Obamacare. Senator Cruz, who has been an active opponent of Obamacare, and Senator Sanders, who has been a supporter of single-payer healthcare compared their positions on the issue, last night.
Cruz and Sanders touched on many subjects including "Medicare for all," Single-payer healthcare systems, a 50 state insurance marketplace and access to healthcare.
One of the most heated moments of the evening came when Sanders asked Cruz is healthcare is a "right." Cruz responded that access to healthcare is a "right."
The debate was conducted as the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate discusses the future of the Affordable Care Act.
