Amarillo Independent School District will begin holding a series of community meetings, next week, that will be centered on a new neighborhood school for the North Heights area.
Following a vote by the AISD Board of Trustees, the school district will begin soliciting feedback regarding the school and how to community feels about a new neighborhood school.
The community meetings will be held beginning on May 13th at the Amarillo United Citizens Forum (901 N. Hayden). Additional meetings will be held on Tuesday, May 16th at Carver Elementary School (1905 NW 12th), May 18th at Carver Early Childhood Academy (1800 N. Travis) and May 18th at Carver Elementary.
The meetings will begin at 10am, 3:15pm, 7:15am, and 7pm respectively. Childcare will be provided at the first Carver Elementary meeting and at the Carver Early Childhood Academy meeting.
