Amarillo Independent School District trustees will discuss community engagements about a possible North Heights community school next week.
On Monday, trustees will discuss the North Heights proposal with legal counsel. Trustees will also discuss a submission to the Office of Civil Rights. Trustees have been discussing North Heights community engagement since last spring, when members of the community rallied to the school district to request the establishment of a North Heights community school.
Trustees will also see the swearing in on the district’s newest trustee next week. Robin R. Malone, an Amarillo attorney and educator, was selected this week to replace James Allen on the Amarillo ISD board and will take her spot on Monday.
The meeting will be held on Monday, September 17th, in the Board Room of the Amarillo ISD Education Support Center (7200 Interstate 40 West). The meeting will begin at 6PM.
