Special Session Up in Air as Abbott Mulls Decision

Texans still do not know if Governor Greg Abbott plans to call a special session for the Texas Legislature or which topics could be discussed.

Governor Abbott told the Texas Tribune earlier this week that he planned to make an announcement regarding the special session "later this week." Thus far, Abbott has not given any hints as to whether the session will be called or which topics he could order to appear on the session's agenda.

As we reported yesterday, according to the Austin-American Statesman, speculated topics that could appear on the special session's agenda include: property tax reform, ethics reform, a "bathroom bill," and the continuation of several state agencies including the Texas Medical Board.
