Democrat Mike Collier officially kicked off his campaign for lieutenant governor today.
Collier, who previously served as finance chairman of the Texas Democratic Party, officially kicked off his bid to unseat incumbent Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick today. Collier announced his bid today while calling the incumbent Patrick "the worst lieutenant governor in the history of the state."
As we reported previously, Collier officially filed his paperwork for the campaign in March.
Collier previously was the Democratic nominee for Comptroller of Public Accounts. Collier lost that bid to Republican Glenn Hegar, 38 percent to 58 percent. Libertarian Ben Sanders and Green Party candidate Deb Shafto split the remaining percentages.
