A new statue has been unveiled downtown.
The new longhorn statue was unveiled at the Maxor Courtyard yesterday, preceding the Polk Street cattle drive. The statue's unveiling was part of a number of festivities aimed at kicking off the summer in Amarillo.
According to information released about the statue's unveiling, the statue was commissioned for former Amarillo Mayor and Maxor head Jerry Hodge.
The statue is currently situated at 3rd and Polk.
