The Amarillo Police Department has located the victim in a recent reported kidnapping.
APD reported that yesterday officers were dispatched to Southeast 27th Avenue and South Osage on the report of a kidnapping. Witnesses observed a female trying to get out of the passenger side of a truck at the intersection. The female exited the truck and ran to a business at that location. The victim used a phone to make a call when the suspect vehicle pulled up by her.
A male got out of the suspect vehicle and forced the woman back inside. The suspect drove through the parking lot and struck a witness with his vehicle. The witness suffered minor injuries.
Officers identified the female as Maribel Acosta, 21 and the suspect as Jase Bustos, 21.
Officers found the victim of the kidnapping in the 600 block of South Vernon. She was uninjured.
The incident has been deemed as stemming from a domestic violence incident.
APD has yet to locate the male suspect.
