Members of the Amarillo College Board of Regents voted unanimously last night for a tax increase in the upcoming fiscal year.
The board of regents voted 8-0 for an effective tax increase for the upcoming fiscal year. This means that the board voted to keep the tax rate flat for the upcoming fiscal year but did not adjust the rate for property valuation increases.
Residents of Amarillo can expect a 4.51 percent increase in taxes paid to the Amarillo Junior College District. This will amount to about a $3.29 tax increase for a home with a valuation of $100,000.
