Local crews from the Texas Department of Transportation will be heading to South Texas to assist those who were affected by Hurricane Harvey.
In an announcement today from the local TxDOT office, TxDOT said that an 11-man crew from the local office had been sent to South Texas yesterday to assist those affected. A second crew is also expected to be sent to the area today. The crews being sent to the area were reminded to be aware of animals on the right-of-way, curious onlookers, and the need to stay hydrated.
Motorists in the areas affected areas are reminded to "turn around, don't drown."
