Former Midland mayor Mike Canon has earned the support of Empower Texans and Texans for Fiscal Responsibility in his bid to unseat Senator Kel Seliger (R-Amarillo).
In the updated legislative endorsements tab on the Empower Texans website, Empower Texans announced its support for Mike Canon, a Midland attorney and former mayor, as he is currently running to unseat Kel Seliger.
Michael Quinn Sullivan, president of Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, announced the endorsement by saying that Canon is going to be a watchdog for taxpayers.
“Mike Canon is a strong conservative who has proven he will hold true to his principles once elected, and Texans for Fiscal Responsibility is proud to endorse him in his campaign,” Sullivan said. “Once elected to the Texas Senate, Mike Canon will stand in the gap for taxpayers.”
Canon is facing Amarillo restaurant owner Victor Leal and incumbent Senator Kel Seliger in the March 6th Republican primary race.
